Price is important, but whether a provider will disappear or oversell aggressively has an even bigger impact on your money and experience. Here are a few ways to assess reliability.
Check Their Age and Reputation
How long have they been around? What do people say on hostloc, NodeSeek, or LowEndTalk? New brands with rock-bottom prices deserve extra scrutiny.
Watch for Suspiciously Low Prices
Prices far below market rate usually mean heavy overselling or a provider that’s riding a wave of signups before disappearing.
Check Scale and Legitimacy
Do they have a proper website, a ticketing system, and reliable payment options? Crypto-only payments, no support tickets, and suspicious contact info are red flags.
Check the Refund Policy
A 3–7 day refund window shows the provider stands behind their product — and gives you room to test before committing.
Spread Your Risk
No matter how trustworthy a provider seems, don’t prepay multiple years at once. Don’t put all your eggs in one basket (see billing cycles).
